How to Build Your Life on the Truth: Life Coaching Tip for Everyone

Several books and writers have at one point or the other dished out a number of ways to build a good life. One thing that influenced most of these writings is that many people are happy with their life, and want to keep working to make it better, while others are dissatisfied and would like to make some major changes. Whatever the case maybe, building up one's life to make it a better one is a common denominator that cuts across every sane person. The scriptures has rightly documented that one of the ways by which we can enjoy a better life is to develop it around the truth. John 8:32 says knowing the truth and embracing it is simply the beginning of freedom. Solomon in his wisdom also said in Proverbs 23:23 that one of the things we should buy in life is the truth. So, if you have bought the whole world for instance, and yet to buy the truth; it means you have not bought anything.

So, what then is the truth? Truth is timeless, ageless and everlasting. There is nothing as old as the truth and there is nothing that can outlast it. The truth has been before the world began, and will continue to be even after the world is no longer in existence. The truth is immutable, unchangeable, constant, not partial, absolute, and does not respect persons. Truth is truth everywhere. There is no heavenly truth, neither is there earthly truth. There is no African truth, neither is there anything like an American truth. 2nd Corinthians 13:8 says there is nothing that can be done to the truth but for the truth. So, no one can fight the truth and win. The truth abides forever. Truth is the only unification of all things and all peoples. Even if lies are one hundred years ahead of the truth, one day the truth will catch-up with it. This is how powerful the truth is.

There had been Kingdoms and dispensations that have come and gone, but the truth remain the same forever. Therefore, it is important to know that when we build our lives on truth, we would abide forever. Building our career, life, ministry, relationship on the truth makes it last forever. The only thing one can do is to align with the truth. The scriptures says there is nothing that can be done to the truth except the truth. The truth will never bend at any point in time or the other to accommodate anything outside of it, whatever is not truth is not true.

Haven said all these above, why then is the truth this powerful? Truth is much more than a concept, or an ideology. The truth is a person and emanates from a person. John 14:6 says Jesus himself is the truth. Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus is the same yesterday and forever. Malachi 3:6 says God doesn't change and the truth doesn't change. Building our lives on the truth means building a formidable life around Jesus. Exodus 3:14 says 'I AM' that 'I AM' is the truth, and he abides forever.

When we build on the rock, which is Jesus Christ,  we are securing a firm foundation with our obedience and trust in what Christ has done, as we put it in all aspects of our life. So, our motivation is based on who we are in Him. This is not done by our proclamations and speeches, it is manifested by taking the knowledge of our Lord and His work, and the relationship we have with Him so it becomes the transforming force to motivate us. One way we can achieve this is through faith.

Let's examine the truth about FAITH. Hebrews 11:6 says Faith is the only access through which one can please God. One truth from this scriptures is that Faith in God pleases him. Another truth here is that Faith is a must. Another truth here is that God rewards those who seek him in faith diligently. It then means that every faith exercised is rewarded. When we seek God diligently, he rewards. Isaiah 51:1-2 says one can not put confidence in God and not be rewarded. Faith is lucrative business. Mark 11:24 Says prayers are answered by faith. Matthew 21:22. Faith is a must in prayer for it to be answered. James 1:5-7, Luke 1:45 says staying in faith, performance of the word will come, the request from the Lord will be granted.

In conclusion, We need a foundation for our lives to survive the hard times. Apostle Paul says for other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Building your life on the truth begins with laying a solid foundation in Jesus and then build on it. So, the question is, what kind of life are you building—or, more specifically, what are you counting on for security and stability in your life? Is it your wealth and riches, or your career or that business empire that you have built over the years? All these as a matter of fact, are good; but doesn't last forever. As Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet, it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25).

The 'rock' according to the scripture above is Jesus Christ. So, If you’re not sure how solid your foundation is and the structure of your life that you have built so far, you might want to stop construction and re-evaluate. God bless you and have a great week.
