Who Will Remind President Goodluck Jonathan About His Single-Term Promise

Before this whole political drama in Nigeria unfolded to this dimension; I remember the open letter written by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo; where he advised the President to do the needful. The needful as far as General Olusegun Obasanjo was concerned was on his decision to leave office after his single-term in office. At that point, I thought what 'Baba' was talking about was just a party affairs; until few days ago when I began to see the evidence (on Channel TV) of instances when President Goodluck Jonathan PROMISED to leave office by May 29, 2015.

In a particular event, First Lady was seated beside him and President Goodluck said it categorically clear that if he does not achieve fundamental changes or get results in his 4 year tenure; that even if Nigerians give him 100 years; he will not do it. The question then is, what has happened between then when he became President and now? Why has it become increasingly difficult for him to "step-down" after his tenure.

President Goodluck Jonathan

While listening to ChannelsTV this morning; a Lawyer said something very important during the SunriseDaily programme. He said, had it been that PDP nominated the current Agriculture Minister as its Presidential Candidate; PDP would have been certain of victory. The point is, before it becomes too late for the President and the party; I think the needful must be done. If you ask me how; then I think; the President must be reminded of his own promises to the people of Nigeria and the party that brought him to power and limelight.
