After you deliver your baby you probably won't be able to do much because your body will be healing. So before you start trying to lose your excess weight check with your doctor to make sure your body is prepared for exercise. When you are ready here are three easy tips to help you reach your goal.
1. Get moving:
Start by walking for at least the first month or more to help build up your strength while your body continues to heal. Its a good way to burn calories and it gets you and the baby out of the house for some fresh air. As your body gets stronger you can work your way up to a light work out with hand weights or resistance band. This will help you target and tone those problem areas.
2. Eat healthy:
Watch what you eat especially if you are breast feeding because your baby is eating everything you are eating. A healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, dairy, proteins and whole grains can give you the energy you need to exercise. And eating six small meals a day curbs your appetite and can help speed up your metabolism.
3. Get support:
Get encouragement from other new moms. It is helpful to have the support of others who are going through the same thing you are. You can also help motivate each other to reach your goal. It's also a great way to make new friends for you and your baby.
