Foods To Enhance Sperm Count

According to medical researchers, nearly 90% of male infertility issues are due to inability to produce sufficient amount of sperm. Low sperm count can really hamper a man’s mentality, as it raises doubts on his masculinity and virility. However, the good news for men is they can rectify this sexual problem just by making changes in their daily diet. Listed are few scientifically proven foods that can help increase sperm count and combat male infertility.

 • Oysters

If you dislike oyster, then you should find some reasons to like it. Oyster is a fantastic sperm count booster. A recent study reported that these mollusks are loaded with essential amino acids and zinc that help body secrete testosterone and progesterone in males and females respectively. Increased testosterone levels in body means your sperm count is good and you are more active sexually. So if you have low sperm count, increase it by eating loads of oysters.

 • Garlic

Since ancient times, humankind is using garlic in some or the other form to treat various medical conditions from common flu to cardiovascular ailments. Now we have a strong evidence to claim that this bulbous herb has the ability to boost sperm count as well. Thanks to its ingredient Allicin, a compound that can improve blood flow in the sexual organs significantly. Just make sure about the quantity you are consuming.

 • Ginseng

Millions of men are turning to ginseng to increase their overall sexual performance. That is because the amazing medicinal properties of ginger improve the virility and libido. Ginseng helps in producing male sexual hormones, thereby enhancing sperm count. Not only does ginseng augment sperm count but also improves erections in men.

 • Pumpkin seeds

You really need to go little seedy when it comes to increase your sperm count. Pumpkin seeds are useful in improving testosterone production, because they are loaded with some protective compounds known as Phytosterols. At the same time, these little seeds are packed with omega-3 fatty acids that enhance blood flow throughout the system.

 • Dark chocolate

The first word that comes to your mind after knowing dark chocolate can boost your sperm count is “WOW”! Dark chocolate contains L-Arginine, a potent amino acid that help augment the sperm count, volume and motility. Additionally, L-Arginine is scientifically proven to increase your sexual pleasure and help you achieve intense orgasms. However, do not try to indulge in eating chocolate in excess, as it may lead to hormonal imbalance.

 • Walnuts

If your sperm count is low and have lost your libido, you should consider a handful of walnuts daily. Walnuts are completely loaded with omega-3 fatty acids that are useful in increasing the sperm count and improving the blood supply to the penile tool. At the same time, walnuts are rich in antioxidants. Furthermore, a new US-based study found that consuming six to seven walnuts daily significantly lowers the cholesterols levels and reduces the risk of heart disease.

 • Asparagus

One of the most effective ways to increase your sperm count is by lowering free radicals in your body. These radicals are responsible for oxidative stress and damage. Therefore, medical experts recommended men to include asparagus and other leafy green vegetables in their daily diet. The high content of Vitamin C in asparagus protects sperm from oxidation and helps in enhancing the sperm motility and volume.

 • Banana

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but a banana a day will keep a fertility expert away. Banana is a wonderful fruit that can help enhance sperm count, male libido and sexual desire, because it contains Bromelain and Vitamin B that help improve overall sexual performance.
