There are two forces that are constantly contending for every individual’s life. There is the force of light and that of darkness as well. These two forces usually war against each other in order to have control of a man’s life. The force of light is being controlled by God, who in His majesty is the light. The bible made us understand that He dwells in an un-approachable light. 1 Timothy 6:16 says:

Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

In the beginning, God made man in His own image and made him the ruler of all that He has made. The first man, Adam functioned like god because he was made in the similitude of God. Adam was so much loved by God that he was given a whole Garden of Eden with every resources in it at the helms of his control. Apart from all these, God also ensured that He gave Adam a companion in the person of Eve, so that he can have someone to help him. As a matter of fact, God’s love for man can be seen in the way and manner man was made. The bible says man was fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

But there is a devil as well who hates man. The devil hates man simply because man was accorded so much glory and dominion when he was created. The devil did not like the fact that the whole dominion was handed over to man and so, he is not happy with man. The devil isn’t happy with man as well because man was made in the image of God. The devil is also aware that man’s long term home is in the kingdom of God and so, he is trying all his possible best to make man miss this opportunity of reigning with the Lord forever.

In My Father’s house are many mansions if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:2)

The devil knows that he is doomed forever and so, he is looking for as many people as possible that will be judged altogether with him and hence, all his tactics to ensure that he doesn’t not allow you to know God or do His will for your life. God judged the devil when he was trying to usurp authority in heaven. He was planning a coup to exalt his throne above the throne of God and he was immediately judged and sent parking from heaven, alongside with his minions of falling angels.

“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” (Isaiah 14:12-15)

The devil does not have a savior and so, he cannot be redeemed forever. Redemption is only for man that God made, who the devil deceived in the Garden of Eden when he tempted Eve. You can see that the devil has not for once since that fall, allowed man to fully go back to his God, even after Jesus had destroyed the wall of partition that separated man from God as a result of devil’s handiwork.

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father (Ephesians 2:14-18).

If there is anything you must glean from this short piece, it is this: there is a God who loves you, and a devil who hates you, and who is doing all his possible best to ensure that you (man) ends up with him and his minions in the lake of fire. The lake of fire is not made for man, but for the devil and his demons. There is a redemption package for everyman that will accept the Lordship of Jesus into their lives. This is the only way to escape this lake of fire with the devil. Don’t allow the devil to fool you, break away from his lordship, and move over to the kingdom of light where God reigns in his majesty.

Give your life to Christ today and be free from sins and all its consequences. Perhaps you are reading this and you haven’t given your life to Jesus, this is another golden opportunity for you right now. Say this prayer from the depth of your spirit:

"Father, I know that I have not been living and walking according to your dictates, and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I am turning away from this sinful way of living. Please forgive me all my sin and trespasses. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and He is alive. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from now on, Amen.
