Something new struck me on the subject as I listened to one of my leaders speak. She said "Just like the widow's mite, everyone else will think what she gave was not enough but God saw differently and applauded her for giving her all." It got me thinking about a lot, especially in relating with people.
Often, we hear people say "Give it your best", "Your best is not enough" and the likes of them.
Have you ever given your best into an assignment or a task, poured out your heart and literally gave your all yet it seems like your all is not good enough? Or perhaps you were told that your all isn’t just good enough?
That feeling you got or think you will was probably the same the widow in context would have felt should she have heard that her best/all wasn’t just good enough. Truth is, with man, your best, even your all may not seem good enough but thank God we have Him who sees right into our hearts and acknowledges our input; before Whom our all is always good enough for. For man sees and judges from the outside but God looks and judges from within wherefore though some may consider your all as insignificant and possibly irrelevant, He would tag it as the best input, for it is not in the activity itself but the heart of sacrifice.
Have you been at this phase before? Are you here now? Are you feeling like you are not good enough because your input and contributions are nothing compared to that of your associates at work, your peers in that group assignment, co-workers in your church department, or even that of other members of your family?
I’ve got news for you!
Though man may judge and condemn you, God never will and though you may not be getting the appreciation you deserve, there’s someone else in the audience watching and He who sees in secret has said He will reward you openly. So keep at it! Keep putting in your best, giving it your all and when they say to you “Your best is not enough”, smile and say to yourself ‘There’s someone else in the audience who truly appreciates my all and He’ll reward me for it.”
