THERE is an account in John chapter twenty about Thomas having to believe Jesus was real after he saw his hands and His side that was pierced. This event took place immediately after Jesus’ resurrection. In this particular chapter, Jesus said something so profound, and it is that mindset that we should all embrace as believers if we are ever going to see God move on our behalf. Verse 29 says: “Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because you have seen me, you have believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

Many people have missed their miracles simply because they want to see results before they believe that which God had said to them. It is true that asking justifies God's giving to us (Matthew 7:7). But you must come to that point where you believe God, even though the answers haven’t come to you yet. This simply is what is referred to as the mindset of faith. It is true that seeing is believing, as popularly believed in the world system. But in relating with God, you have to believe first, before you see the much expected result.

There is this unshakable, unwavering assurance that God will give us anything we ask from Him. He says if your earthly fathers know how to give good gifts unto their children whenever they ask, how then you now reason that your heavenly father will not bless you whenever you ask of Him. Thinking this way simply get God involved in your life. This mindset works like a magnet; it can either attract God to your situation, or repels His presence when you think otherwise. When we become unnecessarily anxious, we lose our peace, and this may repel God's presence around us.

Anxiety doesn't change anything. It will even leave you worse-off after all. What anxiety does is that it puts your faith under pressure, and makes it appear that God is too slow, or that He is less concerned about you. When it seems like your mind is distressed, go to God in prayer. Pray in the Holy Ghost if possible. When you walk in faith, you don't deal with people, but with the WORD of God. Faith is not a formula; it is a belief system, a way of life, and it should be your standard of living.
