Almost intuitively, when we hear anything about God, we immediately think Religion. But beyond our intuitive thoughts, truth remains the truth.
The first key place the Man of God was mentioned in the Bible, was in 2 Kings 1:1-18; when the king of Israel sent his army to capture and arrest Elijah - the army captain said, 'Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down'.
If you note carefully, Elijah did not call himself 'Man of God'; the people called. Therefore, he said, if I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you... If you note again, heaven is not the headquarters of any religion, but the throne of God (Isaiah 66:1).
Therefore, Elijah simply said, if I be a man of God, THEN, let fire fall down from the throne of God. If I may ask, which Religion was Elijah? Judaism or Islam (Islam was not even existing then!). The point is, Elijah was simply a representative of God, and for those who need to know; God is not the God of any Religion, but the LORD God! He is the King of glory, and the LORD of lords; hence, being a man of God is not being a priest or a pastor or an imam or a sheik. A man of God is simply a man that is made by God and is sent by God to represent Him on the earth.
If God is making you and you have been sent by Him for any purpose on earth - then, you are a Man of God, through whom God performs signs, wonders and miracles among men to the praise and glory of the Lord.
The question then is, how can one be made by God? Watch out for an: Who swers on the next post!
