The borrower is in debt to the lender. In Africa, I have not seen yet, a situation where a lender prays or seeks the death of his debtor (borrower). Instead, he secretly desires for him to live long enough to repay his debt to him. As long as the borrower agrees to the debt and makes a promise of repayment to the lender; the desire of the lender will keep him in a positive attitude towards the debtor (borrower). The failure of the borrower to admit his debt and his failure to make a commitment to the repayment of his debt will evoke the wrath and displeasure (negative attitude) of the lender.
The human race is the borrower in this parable and God is the lender and the debt in this parable is life. As long as we as humans, acknowledge God, in that we owe him our lives and we are willing to repay (live for Him), we receive the blessing of God. Our willingness and acknowledgment becomes the bedrock upon which our lives are spared and elongated. God is waiting each day to see how we will live for Him and give Him pleasure; any man who does not acknowledge his debt to God, is like that borrower, who evokes the wrath and displeasure of the lender (God).
God has given each man on earth a gift (debt) of life and we owe Him acknowledgment and worthy living of that life (debt)-that is the way we can repay our debt to Him. God gave His son, His name –JESUS has a gift to all man-kind and He called on us (sent us an invitation) all to be reconciled with Him via His son’s blood. Anyone who accepts His invitation receives not just a common place life but abundant life in Christ Jesus, but anyone who declines this invite will experience death!
Be a wise borrower today not a foolish one!
