How To Live The Advantageous Life

How To Live The Advantageous Life

There seems to be a fundamental misconception about why life was given man in the first place. When the creator made man in His own image, the image looked good; but there was no life in it yet. At that point, God needed to do something more extraordinary to take the creation of man to its perfection. And so, the bible recorded in Genesis that God breath into man, and then he became a living soul. So, we can simply conclude from this account of creation that, what we simply call life today; and what we all perceive as man is nothing short of the breath of the Almighty God. Once that breathe is taken away, man will simply remain an image, lifeless; just like a picture hung inside a photo frame; lifeless and without stimuli.

The thrust of my thought today is not hinged on the creation of man anyway. We all can read the whole story of creation in the book of Genesis. But the essence of this short article is to simply show us how man can live an advantageous life in this World. This is why I titled it “How to Live the Advantageous Life”. Since the beginning of creation, as documented in the Holy Scriptures; I discovered that man was created not to suffer, but to enjoy all the goodness and blessings of God. Notice that God did not create man first. The question is why? Man could have happened to be the first to be created though and every other thing follows. But the reason for that order of creation is simply that every other thing created by God from the beginning was and are for the benefits of man.

So, man woke up from creation to discover he didn’t have to struggle for anything. The food are there, he doesn’t need to dig a well to get any water; and the glory of God was his covering; therefore, no need to think of any form of clothing material (Genesis 2:25). This was nothing short of advantageous living. Just imagine how it would feel when you wake up in the morning and you do not have any reason to struggle for anything. The foods you need are there, the money you want to spend is there at the snap of your fingers; you have a good shelter on your head; you don’t have issues as to the type of cars you want to drive. I mean, this was the original plan of God for man before the devil came and deceived man out of this beautiful life, and man lost it. But thank God for the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, we now have access to all these things again, hallelujah!

The question now is, how should man live to enjoy this advantageous life I am talking about? The answer is simple: live life from the vantage point of what you have, and not from what you don’t have. One serious mistake that many people make in this new age and time is that they assume that they do not have all the requisite materials for their success, and therefore; they give all manner of excuses for their failure in life. You see, life will never give you what you need until you recognize what you have. When God was about to create the whole world, He didn’t have all the tools like a bulldozer, concrete materials, cement and what have you. But God made the whole earth and everything in it from the things He could lay hold of. And those things are: Himself, the Holy Spirit and the Word.

You may not have all the requisite materials you think you need now for you to succeed, but a careful examination of yourself will reveal that there are still a whole lot of things you have that can guarantee your success in life. It will not be in your interest to concentrate on your many disadvantages. This is one tool that the devil uses to trap man on the same spot. The devil will usually reveal all the lacks in your life that may want to impede your advancement in life. You must ensure that you break loose from these cycles of thoughts. We must operate from the angle of our benefits, the realm of our advantages. What we feel we do not have at the moment can only happen when we look within deep down to make it work for our good. When Jesus and Peter were accused of tax evasion, Jesus did not have any money with him, and so also was His "personal assistant"  - Peter. But Peter had a hook with him - a tool for fishing. All Jesus needed to tell him was to get the first fish in the river, and pick the money for the payment of the tax in the mouth of the fish. And that was it! My point here is, Peter had a hook.

Let me conclude this way. There is definitely something you have that will guarantee your success in life. You do not have any excuse not to succeed in your marriage, your ministry, your career, your finances, your family and what have you. And peradventure, you have looked within you and simply do not find anything useful; maybe you should look well again. You have the Holy Spirit residence in you. Ignorance of this very fact will be catastrophic for you. The Holy Spirit lives in you and teaches you all things (1 John 4:4). He is your competitive advantage. Many consider their inabilities and those things that are not working for them, instead of focusing on their inheritances in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit is all we need to walk through life victoriously. All you need is to renew your mind towards these things that all you need to be rounded in life, succeeding in every sphere of your endeavors; it to depend on the Holy Spirit. By him, living this advantageous life to the fullest is guaranteed.

I hope you have been blessed by reading this short piece. Thank you for your precious time and God bless you.
