Devotion is a lifestyle for believers. It is not something you do once in a while, it involves your whole life, essence and being. Giving our devotion to God does not fall from thin air, it is not automatic. There is a place of abiding in God for it to flow naturally. It is one thing to be in God, and it is another thing to walk with Him. To be inGod is to be saved, to walk withGod is to abide in Him. Jesus said in John 15:4.It says:Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.

So, a life of devotion comes from the place of abiding with Him. And in talking about devotion, there are buttons to press to remain with Him continually. One of those buttons is prayer. There is a place of consciously activating devotion to God permanently through prayer. In Matthew 6:5-7, Jesus showed us a pattern of prayer that endears one to God continuously. Prayers shouldnt be left to chances and situations. Prayer is what we do or must do every time and all the time. Jesus also said in Luke 18:1, that we ought to pray regularly and not to faint.

People often say they dont feel like praying. As a matter of fact, it is when you dont feel like praying that you should pray, it is the best time to do so. Why should you even pray? look at what Peter says in 1Peter 5:8-9a. It says:Besober, bevigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.⁹Resist him, steadfast in the faith.In other words, resist him steadfastly with the prayer of faith. The devil isnt resting, and so you should also not give up in praying. Ephesians 6:18 saysPraying always with all prayers and supplication in the spirit.Did you see that? Prayer should prayed always, 24/7 because it is so important.

One way to be spiritually sensitive and alert is through prayer. Mark 1:35 recorded how Jesus had schedules of prayers both in the morning and all through the night. There must be a prayer schedule, a prayer place, and a prayer priority. Early in the morning, late at night are the best time to pray. Anything you devote to God is anointed. So, if you have a prayer place, it will be consecrated for that purpose. Prayer priority is what will determine whether or not God will answer you. The number one priority in prayer is worship.

God must first and foremost be Hallowed in your heart. Also, your priority in prayers must be the kingdom of God. Most of our prayers are too full of self!. Matthew 6:33 says to seek the prosperity of Gods kingdom first and every other thing shall follow. So, your need is not the priority in prayer, it is the will of God.
